Sweet Affairs is an artisanal dessert catering service located in Charlotte, North Carolina. Founded by veteran pastry chef Joselyn Perlmutter, Sweet Affairs offers a customizable dessert experience that combines luscious flavors with exquisite design.


Customers can choose from an extensive selection of cakes, pies, verrines, bars, bite-sized delights and more to create a personalized dessert spread. From corporate events to weddings to baby showers and beyond, Joselyn collaborates with each customer to deliver the perfect final course.


Jossie Perlmutter is the Owner and Head Pastry Chef at artisanal dessert catering service, Sweet Affairs. Joselyn founded Sweet Affairs in 2015, bringing the Charlotte community a truly unique dessert experience.

Born and raised in the D.C. metro area, Jossie graduated from the University of Miami in Florida with a degree in Entrepreneurship. After years of testing out gourmet cupcake recipes on her friends and family, Joselyn followed her passion to France where she received formal pastry training at the Ecole Nationale Superieure de Patisserie in Yssingeaux. Owned by the renowned Chef Alain Ducasse, Jossie had the opportunity to study alongside the school’s talented pastry chefs – learning how to create everything from from buttery croissants to rich, chocolatey entremets.

She moved to Charlotte, NC in December 2013 to launch the pastry program at Heirloom Restaurant, and went on to develop the pastry programs at The Asbury and Block & Grinder. In 2017, Jossie was named the North Carolina Restaurant & Lodging Association’s Pastry Chef of The Year.

Today you can find her teaching baking classes in her shared use kitchen, mentoring other small baking businesses, and catering weddings around the Queen City!
